Academic Convocation Tuesday, August 29 Texas Wesleyan University will hold its 14th Annual Academic Convocation at 12:05 p.m. today, August 29, in Polytechnic United Methodist Church. Anne Skipper, BA '78 will be the keynote speaker. Skipper has been a member of the Texas Wesleyan University Board of Trustees since 1994. She served as vice chairman from 2002-2006 and now serves as chairman of the Board. Skipper and her husband, Mike, BA '78, have a long history at Texas Wesleyan. They have contributed to several capital projects, including the renovation of Martin Hall and Polytechnic United Methodist Church, and are always willing to donate their time to the University. Skipper is president of Wildcatter Ranch & Resort near Graham, TX.
The Academic Convocation for Texas Wesleyan is held at the beginning of each school year as an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to gather and reflect on the nature of their mission for the year – to receive, provide, and support a comprehensive higher education.
