Requirements/FAQ’s

In order to be admitted into graduate school, it is vital that you take seriously your undergraduate studies. Your cumulative GPA and ultimately your score on your standardized exams are the two most important quantifiable factors that an admission committee will look at. That is why the 3PR program requires that you have a minimum 3.0 GPA to participate. If you are a freshman, we require also an SAT score of 1000 or ACT score of 22. We do everything we can to help you get in to the graduate school of your choice, however, your GPA is something only you can control. We realize that college is a huge transition and it may take time to make the necessary adjustments and feel comfortable in your new environment. We understand that. We are here to help you. If you have concerns over the admission requirements, please feel free to ask us!

I’m interested in 3PR, how do I enroll?

You must first go through the admissions process and be admitted to the University. (If you need to contact admissions, click here.) Once you are admitted, you will be able to enroll in classes. You will find all 3PR courses listed in the course schedule. You can tell your advisor that you are interested in participating in 3PR and he/she can help you begin the registration process. Or you can always contact me (link) and I will help advise you in your course selection.

How much does 3PR cost me in tuition?
Almost nothing! For example, as a freshman, if you enroll in 3PR1001/1002, the course is worth zero credit so you do not have to pay tuition for the course. However, you must attend the luncheons and the society meetings as scheduled. The catered luncheons are free of charge. The sophomore and junior level courses are worth 1 credit hour (you pay one hour of tuition), etc. (The credit hour is indicated by the second number in the course, i.e. 1001, 3102, 4301, etc.)

How does 3PR work?
3PR is creatively scheduled in the following way: The luncheons are scheduled on alternate Mondays during the semester. There are a total of 4-6 luncheons per semester. The other Mondays you will attend a student-run society meeting. If you are enrolled in a sophomore or junior level course, at noon you will attend a Monday luncheon, a Wednesday class, and the following week on Monday you will attend a society meeting and Wednesday class. There will be variations in some course times, but the Monday luncheons and society meetings will ALWAYS be scheduled at noon on Monday, unless noted otherwise.
