Scholarship Information

Students who are accepted to Wesleyan must have an overall GPA of 3.0 to enroll in 3PR.  3PR students become eligible to compete for undergraduate scholarships from the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation, full tuition scholarships to Texas Wesleyan School of Law, or a presidential scholarship to Texas Tech School of Law.

Additionally, pre-ministry students may qualify for special scholarships within the department of religion and philosophy of $500 to $1000 per semester from other sources.  Pre-ministry students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience through internships and participation in Omega Chi, a professional fraternity which provides support and mentorship for the students.  For more information regarding religion scholarships, please contact Dr. Ron Ballard, Professor of Religion at rballard@txwes.edu.

You may contact the Deborah Roark at droark@txwes.edu or call 817-531-5845 for more information about the Hatton W. Sumners scholarship. Please review the following information if you are interested.

  • The scholarship award is $3,500 per academic semester (fall and spring), up to $7,000 per academic year and recipients can use this scholarship in conjunction with other internal scholarships they currently receive, such as the Dean's Scholarship, Transfer Scholarship or President's Scholarship.
  • There is no requirement that applicants be enrolled in 3PR to apply for the scholarship, provided applicants have a 3.0 GPA (although certain majors do have preference over others)
