INTERNATIONAL WEEK NOV. 13-17
Texas Wesleyan University observes its annual International Week Nov. 13-17 in conjunction with International Education Week worldwide. The aim of International Education WEek is to raise awareness of the importance of education and understanding among the nations of the world. This week celebrates the cultures around the world and hopes to create an appreciation for international diversity. Scheduled activities include: a lecture on the Irish/Gaelic language, a performance by the Ayubu Kamau Sacred Afrikan Drum and Dance Society, an open mic night in Spanish, and a tournament of European games (boule and kubb). The highlight of the week is the International Fair (Thursday, Nov. 16), which is prepared by international students studying at Texas Wesleyan and gives the University and local community a chance to taste food from different countries, see exhibits of different cultures, and hear and dance to international music. All week, the West Library will display and feature international stories' authors, and Dora Roberts Dining facility will feature foods from various countries.
