One-Stop-Shop Jan. 4 at Texas Wesleyan in Burleson

Classes start on Jan.10, but it’s still not too late to apply and register for the Spring 2007 semester with Texas Wesleyan in Burleson. The University will hold a One-Stop-Shop event from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, where new students can apply for admission and if accepted register for classes - all in one afternoon.

There will be an orientation session for current and new students that will include a tour of the Burleson site and instructions on opening a Wesleyan email account, paying bills, using online services, and more.

Representatives from the School of Education, the School of Business Administration and Professional Programs, the School of Arts & Sciences, Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid will be there to provide information about programs and advise students for registration. . In addition, representatives from the University Bookstore will be on hand selling books for classes, supplies and Texas Wesleyan souvenirs. Refreshments will be served.

Texas Wesleyan in Burleson offers students in the Johnson County and surrounding area an opportunity to attend Texas Wesleyan University at a more convenient location. Upon completion of general education courses at another college or upon receipt of an Associate of Arts degree, students can take advantage of Texas Wesleyan University’s offerings in Burleson: bachelors’ degree completion programs in EC-4 Elementary Generalist (Elementary Teacher Education), General Business and Liberal Studies. Courses towards a master of science in School Counseling will be offered beginning in Summer 2007.

Texas Wesleyan shares the site in Burleson with Hill College. In 2005, the two signed a concurrent admission agreement. Students may enroll simultaneously at Hill College, a two-year school, and Texas Wesleyan, making the transition to a four-year school seamless.
