One-Stop-Shop August 21 at Texas Wesleyan in Burleson Classes start on August 23rd, but it’s still not too late to apply and register for the Fall 2006 semester with Texas Wesleyan at the new site in Burleson. The University will hold a One-Stop-Shop event from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 21, where new students can apply, be accepted (if required criteria is met), be advised, and register for classes - all in one afternoon. At 4 and 6 p.m. there will be an orientation session for current and new students that will include a tour of the Burleson site and instructions on opening a Wesleyan email account, paying bills, using online services, and more. Representatives from the School of Education, the School of Business Administration and Professional Programs, the School of Arts & Sciences, Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid will be there to provide information. In addition, representatives from the University Bookstore will be on hand selling books for classes, supplies and Texas Wesleyan souvenirs. Refreshments will be served. Texas Wesleyan in Burleson offers students in the Johnson County area an opportunity to attend Texas Wesleyan University at a more convenient location. Upon completion of general education courses at another college or upon receipt of an Associate of Arts degree, students can take advantage of Texas Wesleyan University’s offerings in Burleson: bachelors’ degree completion programs in EC-4 Elementary Generalist (Elementary Teacher Education), General Business and Liberal Studies. Courses offered will be primarily junior and senior level and will be taught by both full-time and adjunct faculty. Two full-time faculty in education will be located in Burleson. Texas Wesleyan shares the site in Burleson with Hill College. Last year, the two signed a concurrent admission agreement. Students may enroll simultaneously at Hill College, a two-year school, and Texas Wesleyan, making the transition to a four-year school seamless.
