Limited Engagement of The Club at Texas Wesleyan
Behind every man there really is a woman.
Come to the “The Club” and enjoy a musical diversion by Eve Merriam. Directed by Texas Wesleyan’s Joe A. Brown and set inside an exclusive turn-of-the-19th-century gentleman’s club, this production gives you the chance to hear what these men love – and hate – about the women in their lives, all expressed through the songs of their day.
But the show has a big twist: All the “gentlemen” are played by women. The cast includes Cindy Almond, Jan Gleaves, Pam Goodman, Whitney Park, Connie Sanchez, Quenby Seter and Trich Zaitoon.
This tongue-in-cheek production is presented by A to Z Girls Productions, LLC and Texas Wesleyan University Department of Theatre, by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. It is only the second production of “The Club” ever produced in this area.
Renee Morris is choreographer and assistant director, Neil Mowles is musical director.
The show’s limited run will play July 28-30 and August 4-6 at the Thad Smotherman Theatre, located in the Law Sone Fine Arts Building, 1205 Binkley, on the campus of Texas Wesleyan University. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and at 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students (with ID) and are expected to sell quickly since the run is limited. Discounted rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Tickets can be reserved by calling 817-531-4211.
