Methodist Students

Congratulations on your decision to pursue higher education! As you review your academic options for the future, I invite you to consider Texas Wesleyan University.

Established in 1890 by the Methodist Church, Texas Wesleyan is a private university dedicated to a quality and personalized education. For undergraduates, the university offers over 50 different majors in the areas of Business, Education, Fine and Performing Arts, and Science and Humanities.

To Methodist students, we offer several exclusive scholarships:

  • United Methodist Scholarship:  Offers $1,000 annually to full time Methodist students who have been an active member of a Methodist church for at least one year.
  • John Wesley Scholars:  If your church supports you financially up to $2,500 per year, the university will match your church’s contribution up 2,500 per year.
  • Clergy and Dependent Scholarship.  This scholarship grants $4,000 annually to Methodist clergy and their dependents.

As a special consideration to Methodist students,

we will waive the $25 application fee.

Our mission at Texas Wesleyan University is to develop students to their full potential as individuals and as members of the world community. To that effect, Wesleyan offers over 65 student clubs and organizations including Omega Chi, a religious organization that works to advance Christian ideals on campus and equip students for Christian ministry, and Methodist Student Movement, an organization that encourages students to grow in Christian commitment through university life.  Also, weekly chapel services are available to all students regardless of one’s faith.  Click here for more information on religious life at Texas Wesleyan University.

* Awards vary and are contingent on the completion of your application, receipt of necessary documents, test scores, and evaluation of transcripts.
