Careers in Art ADVERTISING Art Director: In advertising, the art director plays an important role and is a widely held art career in the business. A major requirement for this job is to possess the ability to form a steady, creative, and working relationship with a copywriter. As a team, the art director and copywriter design and develop advertising campaigns based on demographic research within the market. ARCHITECTURE An architect will take his/her blend of art and science to design environments. An architect designs and supervises the construction of buildings and other structures while demonstrating decision-making, team leadership, and creativity skills. He/she must supervise the step-by-step phases of the project plans from idea creation to structure completion. Structures range from rooms, buildings, and complexes to neighborhoods, towns, suburbs and cities. FASHION Fashion and clothing designers work in a number of different areas within the field. Many will find themselves working with different types of apparel such as sporting clothes, evening wear, outerwear, etc. These designers create new styles or modify existing styles with men's, women's, or children's clothing designs. A fashion/clothing designer must have understanding of color, fabrics, production processes and costs, and the public's changing tastes and preferences. MUSEUM Art museums collect works of art, conduct research and teach people about art. Museums organize exhibitions to display their main teaching medium. Many possible museum jobs include assembling works of art for exhibitions, supervising the installation of these exhibitions, writing exhibition catalogs, and lecturing on the exhibitions organized. . |
