2007: Named 1st-team All-RRAC, RRAC Pitcher of the Year, 1st-team All-Region VI, and Honorable Mention All-American...set a school record while ranking second nationally with 14 saves...set a school record with 29 appearances...set Texas Wesleyan career records with 19 saves and 72 appearances...led the RRAC in ERA at 1.62, while ranking fourth in opponents AVG at .222, BB/9 IP at 1.62, and hits/9 IP at 7.71...successfully converted 14-of-16 save opportunites...allowed an earned run in just one of his first 19 appearances holding a 0.72 ERA with 29 K’s and 5 BB’s in his first 25 IP (2/4-4/10)...saved both ends of a doubleheader with UT-Brownsville striking out five in two IP (3/31)...saved both ends of a doubleheader at College of the Southwest (3/31)...earned a win and a save in a doubleheader with East Texas Baptist working three innings for a win in game one and 1.2 innings for a save in game two (4/23)...on the same day allowed one run on two hits to pick up the save in an 8-7 win over Houston Baptist in the RRAC semifinal and allowed no runs on one hit in 2.2 innings to earn the win in the RRAC championship game against Wiley (5/4).
2006: Named 2nd-team All-Conference as a relief pitcher…went 2-4 with a 4.23 ERA…had 21K in 38.1 IP…led the Rams with 5 saves and 27 appearances…led the conference in appearances and was 2nd in saves…vs. Huston-Tillotson (3/6-2) went 3 innings allowing no runs and striking out 2 while getting his first career save…vs. Sterling (3/21-2) got the save going 3 innings while striking out 3 and not allowing a run…vs. Huston-Tillotson (4/12) had a season high 4Ks in 1.2 innings, only allowing one hit while getting the save.
2005: Appeared in 16 games…posted an 8.89 ERA in 28.1 innings pitched…struck out 23 batters, which led all bullpen pitchers.
High School: A two-year letter winner for Bob Rombach at Duncanville High School...1st-team All-District in his junior season...helped win district championship and reached semifinals in his junior season...awarded two Golden Glove awards...graduated as an honor student with a 3.8 GPA.
Personal: Born Hayden Matthew Lackey on Sep. 27, 1985, in Amarillo, TX...son of Tom and Sherri Lackey...has one brother, Seth, and one sister, Teryn...majoring in business finance. |
