2008: Was named 1st-team All-RRAC after leading the team with a .418 BA, and a .648 SLG...ranked fourth in the conferenc in BA (.418), fourht in H’s (82), third in 2B’s (18), fourth in HR’s (9), and fourth in RBI (61)...also named to the RRAC Gold Glove Team...named RRAC Player of the Week on March 25 after hitting .800 (8-for-10) with 6 RBI, 4 2B’s, a HR, and 7 R’s in a conference sweep of then 18th ranked Bacone College...named RRAC Player of the Week on April 22 after hitting .500 (6-for-12) with 7RBI, 2 2B’s, 2 HR’s, and 4 R’s in a 3-1 week including a conference sweep of SAGU...had 23 multi-hit and 14 multi-RBI games...hit safely in 45 of 56 games...went 2-for-3 with 5 RBI, 2 HR’s, and 4 R’s in a 20-10 win over Mariette College (3/14-1)...hit .420 (21-for-50) during a season-long 13-game hitting streak (4/8-4/22).

Prior to Wesleyan: Played for coaches David White and Shawn Hughes at Cisco Junior College...played in the Texas/New Mexico All-Star Game.

High School: A four-year letter winner for coaches Jimmy Melendez and David Perez at Riverside High School...an Honorable Mention All-State selection in his junior year...played in the El Paso High School All-Star Game.

Personal: Born Butch Martin Ballez on Oct. 11, 1986, in El Paso, TX...son of Martin and Suzie Ballez...has one brother and two sisters...majoring in education.
