Assistant Coach: Brennen Shingleton
Entering his fifth season at Texas Wesleyan University, Brennen Shingleton has established himself as an integral part of the basketball program.
A native of Fort Worth, TX, Shingleton was a member of the NJCAA Region 14 Conference Championship team at Lon Morris College under head coach Dale Dodson in 1993. After a year at Lon Morris, Shingleton joined Terry Waldrop (then an assistant coach) at NCAA Division I Southeastern Louisiana University. During his tenure, the Lions won a share of the Trans America Championship, finished second in another season, and were ranked as high as 32nd nationally by USA Today.
Shingleton renewed his relationship with Coach Waldrop when he joined the Texas Wesleyan Basketball Program as an assistant coach in 2002. He is involved in every aspect of the Rams program including recruiting, practice and in-game coaching, and post player development. He is also responsible for the infamous preseason conditioning sessions conducted in the early hours of the morning.
Shingleton completed his master’s in business administration at Texas Wesleyan University in 2005. Shingleton currently resides in Fort Worth.
Waldrop on Shingleton: "Brennen may be one of the most energetic, loyal, and positive guys that I have ever been around. We all feed off his energy and passion for whatever he is doing. I have known him for a long time now, and make no mistake, he is a huge piece of our program and was integral in winning the National Championship in 2006. His instincts in communicating and interacting with players are second to none and his recruiting network is getting bigger and better. He has a bright future in college basketball. I am very proud of him and feel fortunate to have him at Texas Wesleyan University." |
