POST GAME AUDIO: Head
Coach Steve Jones
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Texas
Wesleyan offense continued to struggle, as the Rams lost to Oklahoma
Christian, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at a soggy Martin Field.
Oklahoma Christian (1-0-1) got two quick
goals in the first 10 minutes from Matt Clark and Jared Rigsby.
Texas Wesleyan (0-1-1) was only able to
get off one shot in the first half, as they fell behind 2-0 at the
break.
In the second half, Clark scored again
in the 75th minute, and Daniel Hemeterio added another to put the
game out of reach.
"It was a continuation of yesterday's
game in that we didn't come to win at all," head coach Steve
Jones said. "We gave them too many open looks and we had a
lot of holes in our defense."
Oklahoma Christian outshot the Rams, 12-7
and constantly put pressure on the Ram defense tallying eight cornerkicks.
"We don't have an attack right now,"
Jones said. "When you are not putting pressure on the other
team's keeper, it is going to be a long game."
Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Friday
when they play host to UT-Tyler at Martin Field. Game time is set
for 5 p.m.
