     FORT WORTH, Texas -
The Texas Wesleyan battled Sooner Conference member NW Oklahoma State to a 2-2 tie, Saturday afternoon at Martin Field.

NW Oklahoma State (0-0-1) got on the board first, when Chelsea Lawson beat Lady Ram goalkeeper Jennifer Arellano on a one-on-one in the ninth minute. Leslie Foster provided the assist for the Lady Rangers.

Texas Wesleyan (2-1-1) waited until the 76th minute to counter when freshman Loren Clark continued to impress when she picked up a loose ball in front of the net and put it in the back of the net. Junior Jessica Carrion assisted on the play.

The Lady Rangers retook the lead in the 78th minute when Amy Scheuerman scored on a pass from Sherina Woods to make the score, 2-1.

However, the Lady Rams would not be denied, as junior Leslie Tabor scored on a penalty kick in the 79th minute to knot the score, 2-2.

Neither team was able to put together a real scoring chance in the two overtime periods and the match ended in a draw.

"Today was a long day for both teams," head coach Steve Jones said. "With a tie against a team of this caliber, we have shown that we can compete with anyone in the region."

NW Oklahoma State outshot the Lady Rams, 8-7.

Texas Wesleyan returns to action Friday when they host Texas Women's at Martin Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
