FT.WORTH, Texas - Sophomore forward
Nichole Richardson scored in the 20th minute of the game, but that
wasn't enough as Texas Women's defeated Texas Wesleyan, 3-1, Friday
afternoon at Martin Field.
Texas Women's (2-3) started the scoring
in the first half, when Melissa Williams scored off a free-kick
with a header. Melissa Cribbes assisted on the play.
Texas Wesleyan (2-2-1) evened things out
with a goal of their own as Leslie Tabor contributed to Richardson's
goal with a corner kick.
Anxious for a shot of her own, Cribbes
scored in the 23rd minute for Lady Pioneers when she put another
one past the Lady Ram goalkeeper Holly Rowland raising the score,
2-1.
The Lady Pioneers did not hesitate as Emily
Meinen scored the third and final goal of the game. Cribbes tallied
another assist on the play.
The Lady Rams outshot Texas Women's,
7-6, but their scoring chances were limited.
The Lady Rams will be back in action Saturday
when they travel to take on John Brown at 1 p.m.
