     SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - Junior Rene Mercado's goal in the 37th minute was not enough as John Brown defeated Texas Wesleyan, 3-1, Saturday afternoon in regional action.

     Texas Wesleyan (2-3-1) opened the scoring with Mercado's goal. Junior Travis Mauldin assisted on the play.

     John Brown (5-0) stormed back with three unanswered goals from Griff Hanning, Joe Hirleman and Shawn Wierick.

     The Rams had one two straight against Red River Conference opponents, but fell to Sooner Conference member John Brown to break the streak.

     Texas Wesleyan returns to action Friday when they host Southern Nazarene at Martin Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. The Crimson Storm defeated the Rams last season, 4-0, in Bethany, Okla.
