Texas - Junior Susan Taylor tallied 18 digs to lead Texas Wesleyan past UT-Tyler,
3-0, Wednesday evening at Herrington Patriot Center.
Texas
Wesleyan (12-2) controlled the match in its entirety rallying off scores of 30-19,
30-18, 30-18, to pick up its sixth straight victory.
"We
stayed aggressive the entire match," head coach Rick Johansen said. "The
girls stuck to the game plan and played at a very fast pace."
Junior
Rachel Loftin led the Lady Rams with 17 kills and five blocks, while senior Tiffany
Porterfield added 14 kills. Senior Becca Broussard had a good all-around game,
registering eight kills and 12 digs. Freshman Sandra Ayala also had eight kills
to go along with two blocks and two service aces. Senior Cortney Johansen dished
out 35 assists in the match.
Texas Wesleyan
returns to action Tuesday when they host Southeastern Oklahoma State at the Sid
Richardson Gymnasium. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
