HAWKINS, Texas - Senior Cortney Johansen dished out 65 combined assists in identical 3-0 victories over Texas College and Jarvis Christian on Tuesday evening.

     Texas Wesleyan (21-3, 9-2 RRAC) defeated the Lady Steers of Texas College, 30-12, 30-8, 30-16, and then quickly breezed past the Lady Tigers of Jarvis Christian in only 56 minutes, 30-10, 30-12, 30-12.

     "We played with a lot of intensity tonight," head coach Rick Johansen said. "We were definitely on in our serving game and that carried us in both matches."

     The Lady Rams had 15 aces versus Texas College and wound up with nine aces against Jarvis Christian. Johansen led the team with eight service aces in the two matches. Junior Rachel Loftin tallied 21 kills in two matches, with senior Nicky Davis tallied 17 kills and senior Tiffany Porterfield had 15 kills. Junior Susan Taylor totaled 16 digs, while senior Becca Broussard registered 14 digs.

     Texas Wesleyan returns to action Saturday when they host conference-rival Bacone College at 11 a.m., and Wiley College at 6 p.m.
