     FORT WORTH, Texas - Freshman Loren Clarkscored her seventh goal of the season as Texas Wesleyan defeated conference leader Northwood, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon in front of 200 fans at Martin Field.

     Texas Wesleyan (7-7-2, 2-2-1 RRAC) got on the board in the 42nd minute when Clark took a through pass from freshman Allie Heafner and beat the Northwood goalkeeper to give the Lady Rams a 1-0 lead.

     Northwood (5-5-1, 3-1 RRAC) put some pressure on the Lady Rams in the second half, but the defense was up to the test as Texas Wesleyan shut out the Knights. The shutout was the Lady Rams' fifth of the season.

     Texas Wesleyan outshot Northwood, 9-5, and had six shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Jennifer Arellano had three saves to pick up the victory for the Lady Rams.

     The Lady Rams will be back in action Tuesday in the semifinals of the Red River Conference Tournament. The time, site and opponent have yet to be determined. This is the third straight season the Lady Rams have qualified for the post season.
