EDMOND, Okla. - Junior Shawndrika
tallied 19 points and five rebounds but that was not enough as the
Lady Rams fell to Oklahoma Christian, 88-63, Tuesday evening in
regional basketball action. The game was the season opener for the
Lady Rams.
Texas Wesleyan (0-1) was led by senior
Kashae Townsend who amassed 12 points and six rebounds, while junior
Tiffany Hill led the Lady Rams with seven assists.
Oklahoma Christian (3-0) was led by Tasha
Turney, who totaled 27 points, with 24 of them coming in the first
half. Lauren Decker added 20 points, while Carlissa Plowden chipped
in with 16 points.
Oklahoma Christian outrebounded the Lady
Rams, 45-38, and Texas Wesleyan turned the ball over 20 times.
Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Thursday
when they travel to take on University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. in Chickasha, Okla.
