CHICKASHA, Okla. - Senior
Shayla Coleman tallied 21 points, four assists and four steals but Texas Wesleyan
could not hold a second-half lead as they fell to Science and Arts (Okla.), 79-58,
Thursday evening at the USAO Field House.
Texas
Wesleyan (0-2) held a 39-37 lead with 15:56 remaining in the game, but couldn't
hold the lead as Katie Sterling scored 12 of her 22 points down the stretch.
The
Lady Rams opened the game scoring the first seven points of the game with junior
Shawndrika Courtney leading the way with three points.
The
Lady Drovers (4-0) outscored Texas Wesleyan 31-24 the rest of the half, led by
nine first-half points by Karole Roberts.
After
a taking a two-point lead with 15:56 remaining, the Lady Rams were outscored 14-0
over the next three minutes as the Lady Drovers took a 51-39 lead with 12:20 remaining
in the game.
Courtney ended the night with
13 points and nine rebounds, while junior Tiffany Hill registered seven points
and junior Kashae Townsend had six points.
Texas
Wesleyan returns to action November 20th when they travel to take on UT-Tyler.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
