LOMA, Calif. - The Texas Wesleyan volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to
three-seeded California Baptist in the quarterfinals of the 2004 NAIA National
Tournament.

Wesleyan (37-5) fell to the Lady Lancers, 30-24, 30-24, 30-18, getting bounced
from the tournament.
Junior Rachel Loftin
led the team with 15 kills, while senior Cortney Johansen dished out 34 assists.
Junior Susan Taylor tallied 20 digs and freshman Ashley Mock added 12 of her own.
In
the morning match against Georgetown College, Texas Wesleyan lost to the Tigers,
23-30, 30-28, 30-22, 30-23. Loftin led the Lady Rams with 20 kills, while senior
Nicky Davis added 11 kills and senior Tiffany Porterfield chipped in with 10 kills.
Johansen dished out 49 assists, while sophomore Brandi Hatcher and senior Becca
Broussard both had 21 digs. The Lady Rams
end their 2004 season with a 37-5 record. Their magical run this season included
victories over five ranked teams down the stretch. They ended the season winning
31 matches out of the last 34.
