     CROWLEY, Texas -
Texas Wesleyan catcher Amanda Milam set the tone for the Lady Ramswith a three-run homer as they swept Concordia University in a doubleheader Friday afternoon at Harry Teeter Park. The Lady Rams notched a 5-0 victory in the opening game and 7-1 in the second contest. Texas Wesleyan also swept another doubleheader from the Tornados on Saturday, winning 7-2 and 11-4.

In the first game on Saturday, Texas Wesleyan (6-1) was down 1-0 after the first inning, but stormed back to score seven unanswered runs over the next five innings to take a 7-2 victory. Left fielder Rachel Hampton led the Lady Rams, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

Sophomore Rachel Lamont (1-0) picked up the victory allowing one earned run on six hits, while walking four and striking out two batters in seven innings of work.

Texas Wesleyan started the second game on Saturday, scoring eight runs in the first two innings to put the game away early. Third baseman Ariel Raley led the Lady Rams going 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Junior Devin Blew (3-0) picked up the victory allowing three runs on seven hits, while striking out seven batters in seven innings of work.

In the first game of Friday's doubleheader, Concordia (0-6) had little luck hitting against Lady Ram pitcher Tara Sharp (1-0). The Tornados finished the game with the only four hits.

It was a different story for the home team, when Milam devastated the Tornados with her blast in the opening inning. Centerfielder Danah Merck started the game with a single to right centerfield and was followed by Lady Ram shortstop Vanessa Urteaga who smacked one to left field. Texas Wesleyan's designated player, Marie Stone doubled to centerfield to drive in Merck to put the Lady Rams ahead, 1-0. Milam came up to bat and deposited a Tornado pitch way over the left field fence to make the score, 4-0.

Concordia's starting pitcher Cara Patrenella was replaced by Melissa Leija in the bottom of the sixth inning and permitted the Lady Rams to score final run of the game on a RBI-double by Stone.

Sharp had a complete shutout in 6.0 innings of work with four strikeouts and only allowing four hits and one walk.

In the second game, Stone shook up the Tornados and struck out her first two batters. Patrenella doubled and was the only Tornado to get a hit until the third inning.
Merck singled and later scored off of Urteaga's single up the middle. Stone, Milam, and first baseman Brooke McNabb all reached in the first inning. Raley tripled and drove in all three runners to make the score, 5-0.

Concordia third baseman Nellie Kelly scored the first and only run for the Tornados in the third inning after singling and scoring on a double by shortstop Kaedy Hermes to cut the lead to 5-1.
Merck scored two more runs for the Lady Rams for the final 7-1 score.

Lady Ram pitcher Stone picked up the victory striking out seven hitters in 5.0 innings.

The Lady Rams will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to take on SE Oklahoma State. The doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. in Durant, Okla.
