Women's Red River All-Conference Team
 DALLAS,
Texas - The Texas Wesleyan women's basketball team placed three players on
the 2004-05 Red River Athletic Conference team on Tuesday. Senior Kashae Townsend
and sophomore Nastassia Brown both were named to the first-team, while senior
Shayla Coleman picked up second-team honors.
 Townsend,
was third on the team in points per game (9.9) and tied for second in rebounds
(6.9). The Hillsboro, Texas native, registered five double-doubles on the season
and had a monster 19-point, 17-rebound game against nationally-ranked Oklahoma
Christian.
Brown was second on the team in
scoring (10.3) and tied for second in rebounding at 6.9 boards per game. Brown
also led the Lady Rams with 1.7 steals per game. The Fort Worth, Texas native
tallied seven double-doubles on the season, which included a 19-point, 10-rebound
performance against Langston in the conference semifinals.
Coleman,
who led the Lady Rams in three-pointers made with 19, also averaged 9.1 point
per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. The San Antonio, Texas native, had 14 games
in which she scored in double-figures. She also had nine rebounds and four steals
in a conference-quarterfinal victory over Jarvis Christian.
 Texas
Wesleyan will be back in action March 16-22, when they take part in the 2004-05
NAIA National Championship Tournament in Jackson, Tenn. This is the first time
in school history the Lady Rams have made it to Nationals. Check www.ramsports.net
