SYDNEY, Australia - Texas Wesleyan
junior Ban Hunt has been selected to compete in the 2005 World University
Games.
Hunt was selected along with players from
Georgia, Seton Hall and Wyoming and is the only player from the
NAIA picked to compete for Australia.
The 6-2 guard helped lead Texas Wesleyan
to a 20-12 record and an appearance in the conference semifinals.
He was selected first-team all-conference, averaging 17.5 points
and 6.5 rebounds a game. He also led the team in assists, tallying
4.8 a contest. The Aussie registered a triple-double this season,
scoring 17 points, pulling down 15 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists
against conference-rival Paul Quinn.
Hunt will compete for his home country,
Australia in the tournament that will be held in Izmir, Turkey,
on August 11-21.
