2005 Red River Athletic Conference Team

     DALLAS, Texas - Texas Wesleyan freshman Jessica Bancroft and junior Marie Stone were named to the 2005 Red River Athletic conference team Tuesday afternoon.

     Bancroft, a Grand Prairie, Texas native, was second on the team in hitting with a .356 batting average. The second baseman finished with 14 RBI on 48 hits in 135 at-bats. The freshman was also second in on-base percentage at .401, and was also 3-for-4 in the stolen base department.

     Stone, a Pittsburg, Texas native, led the team in batting average (.361), slugging percentage (.660) and on-base percentage (.444). She was also first in RBIs, amassing 37 of them off of 52 hits in 144 at-bats. The lefty was also 4-1 on the mound with a team-best 1.20 earned-run average. She registered 47 strikeouts in just 41 innings pitched.

     The Lady Rams finished the season one game short of the regional tournament. Texas Wesleyan posted a 28-25 record, its most wins since the 2000 season. They finished third in the RRAC and knocked off nationally ranked Science & Arts and Bacone College. They also defeated NCAA Division II SE Oklahoma State and Tarleton State.
