FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (8-3) defeated Texas Woman’s University (7-11) by a score of 3-0 (30-19, 30-8, 30-22) at the Sid Richardson Center on Tuesday.

With the win, the Lady Rams ran their current winning streak to 21 games over their last seven matches.

Texas Wesleyan opened with a solid 30-19 win in game one and then turned it on in game two for a 30-8 win.  However, the Pioneers would not go quietly and game three remained even at 19-19.  The Lady Rams then closed out the match with an 11-3 run.

Misty Tarbet led the attack with 13 kills.  Whitney Johansen had 42 assists.  Susan Taylor had 18 digs, and Brandi Hatcher added 4 service aces.

“I was a little concerned about losing focus after the second game, but we rebounded and got it done,” said Head Coach Rick Johansen.  “Susan [Taylor], Whitney [Johansen], and Rachel [Loftin], our three seniors, all did a great job.  We switched Erinn [Miller] and Misty [Tarbet] tonight as an experiment and that paid off.”

They Lady Rams will return to action in the Red River Athletic Conference Corssover Tournament in Houston, TX, this weekend.  They will face Texas College and Wiley College on Friday with game times of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  On Saturday, the Lady Rams will face Jarvis Christian at 3:00 p.m.
