Basketball Coach Terry Waldrop |
Texas Wesleyan benefits greatly
from the leadership and coaching of Terry Waldrop and Kevin
Millikan, said Jeffcoat. Their loyalty and commitment
to Wesleyan athletics impacts the university every day. Our goal
is to enable student-athletes to compete at the national level of
the NAIA, without compromising the opportunity to obtain the
extraordinary education available to them at Texas Wesleyan
University. We have great leadership with Terry and Kevin together
with our entire coaching staff, and I am delighted to announce
these promotions today.
Waldrop, 39, joined Wesleyan as head mens
basketball coach in 1999, and has since compiled a 62-47 record.
In his first season, he guided the Rams to their best winning
percentage in a decade, and led last seasons squad to a
birth in the Elite Eight round of the NSCAA national tournament in
Detroit, Michigan. This year, his team has compiled an 18-8 record
through 25 games, and has consistently garnered votes for the NAIA
national top 25 list, climbing to the 23rd spot for the week
ending January 21.
