FORT WORTH, Texas With a conference
record of 13-7, the Rams grabbed the third seed in the Red River
Conference post-season basketball tournament, and will face #6
Huston-Tillotson College on Saturday, March 8th at 7:30 PM in the
Sid Richardson Gymnasium.
Huston-Tillotson finished the season with a
12-19 record, and went 10-10 in conference play. They split two
meetings with Wesleyan this year, losing
81-70 on January 18th in
Fort Worth, and winning 106-97 in Austin on February 22nd.
The Rams (21-11, 13-7), who have been ranked as
high as 23rd in the country this season, have their sights set on
an appearance in the NAIA national tournament in Kansas City,
Kansas later this month, but will need to advance to the
conference tournament final to receive a bid. If they defeat
Huston-Tillotson, they will play the winner of #2 Jarvis Christian
vs. #7 Bacone in the semi-final round. The Rams have split the
season series with both teams this year, winning on the road and
losing at home both times. A win the semi-finals will likely set
the stage for a rematch with the top-ranked team in the country,
Houston Baptist University.
All Ram games this post-season will be
broadcast through the Teamline Broadcasting Service, and will be
free of charge to listeners. To listen to a game, call
