FORT WORTH, Texas By virtue of a 6-14
finish in conference play this season, the Lady Ram basketball
team received the seventh seed in the Red River Conference
tournament. They will travel to Langston, Oklahoma on Thursday to
face the second-seeded Lady Lions of Langston University at 7 PM.
Langston (23-7, 18-2), which has received a few
votes towards a top-25 national ranking this season but has yet to
crack the list, defeated Wesleyan both times the teams met this
season. The Lady Lions won 68-56
in Oklahoma on January 25, and 84-60
this past Saturday in the Sid Richardson Gymnasium.
The Lady Rams werent even on track to get
into the tournament which accepts the best eight teams from
the regular season - just three weeks ago. From January 9th to
February 8th, Wesleyan won just a single conference game in 11
tries, and was in 10th place in the 11-team conference. But since
February 10th, the Lady Rams have won three of seven, doubling
their conference win total and securing a spot in the tournament.
Thursdays game, along with any subsequent
post-season games played by the Lady Rams, will be broadcast
through the Teamline Broadcasting Service, and will be free of
charge to listeners. To access the broadcasts, call 1-800-846-4700
