Lady Rams Drop Two at #4 Central Oklahoma

Game 1 – Amanda Kashuba surrendered 7 runs on 11 hits as the Lady Bison, ranked #4 in the NAIA, downed the Lady Rams 7-2. Kashuba helped her own cause, going 2-3 with 2 doubles. She knocked in Monica Barrilleaux for Wesleyan’s first run with a 7th inning gapper, then scored the other run on a Jennifer Perez single.

Kashuba walked 2 and struck out 3 in the complete-game loss. Her record now stands at 4-2 on the year. Barrilleaux went 1-3 with a double and run scored, and Perez went 1-3 with an RBI. Kamie Lancaster doubled in 4 trips, and Michelle Perez added another hit for the Lady Rams.

Game 2 – Wesleyan jumped out to a 2-run lead, but the Lady Bison scored single runs in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th to squeak out a 4-3 victory. Monica Barrilleaux and Cynthia Obsivac combined to allow 4 runs on nine hits. Obsivac walked 2 and struck out 3, and gave up 2 runs on a pair of solo homers in the 2nd and 3rd innings. She was replaced by Barrilleaux, who picked up the loss allowing 2 runs on 4 hits over the final 3.2 innings.

Amanda Kashuba went 2-3 with a double and a home run, knocking in all 3 Wesleyan runs. Her 2-run blast in the 1st inning was the first for the Lady Rams this season. Her RBI double in the 3rd hit the top of the fence. Stephanie Rice went 2-4, and Danah Merck, Kamie Lancaster, and Krystal Gutierrez each went 1-3.

With the losses, the Lady Rams drop to 3-6 on the season.
