     FORT WORTH, Texas
- Sophomore forward Jessica Carrion scored two goals to lead the Texas Wesleyan women's soccer team past the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, 4-3, Saturday at Martin Field.
USAO (0-1) started the scoring in the first half when forward Summer Holman scored on a breakaway in the 19th minute.
Texas Wesleyan (1-0) would fight back with a goal of their own as junior Crystal Pena sent a shot over four USAO defenders on a free kick from just outside the box to knot the score at 1-1. Carrion put the Lady Rams ahead as she scored on a breakaway in 23rd minute to make the score 2-1.
Holman struck again for the Lady Drovers when she put another one past the Lady Rams goalkeeper Katrina Fishback to tie the score at 2-2.
Junior Jessica Elder capped off the scoring in the first half when she scored on a penalty kick in the 39th minute to give the Lady Rams a 3-2 advantage.
In the second half, Carrion added her second goal of the match as she beat goalkeeper Audrey Butler on a breakaway to put the game out of reach.
"Every team in the Sooner Conference is tough and USAO was no exception," Texas Wesleyan head coach Steve Jones said. "Our girls gave it their all today and we are definitely headed in the right direction."
Samantha Pecore added another goal for USAO in the waning minutes for the final margin.
The Lady Rams will be back in action when they travel to take East Texas Baptist Aug. 29, at 2 p.m.
