     MARSHALL, Texas -
Sophomore goalkeeper Katrina Fishback had 14 saves to lead the Texas Wesleyan women's soccer team to a 4-3 victory over East Texas Baptist Friday afternoon.
"Our offensive was there and we had some great runs on goal," head coach Steve Jones said. "We still need to work on our team defense and limit the opposing teams' scoring chances."
ETBU (0-1) starting the scoring in the 22nd minute, when Kelly Hendley scored on a pass from Janna Wilson to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Texas Wesleyan (2-0) struck back with two goals from sophomore forward Jessica Carrion in the 38th and 39th minute to retake the lead, 2-1, going into halftime.
In the second half, junior midfielder Crystal Pena assisted on a goal by freshman sweeper Heather Fowler in the 47th minute and scored a goal of her own in the 71st minute, on an assist by senior forward Uduma Ogidi to increase the Lady Ram lead to 4-1.
The Tigers made interesting with two goals down the stretch by Wilson and Tory Mills to cut the lead to 4-3. They sent numerous shots on goal, but Fishback kept the score in Texas Wesleyan's favor with save after save.
"Kat came up big for us today with a lot of key saves," Jones said. "She played terrific and led us to victory."
The Lady Rams will be back in action Wednesday, at Martin Field when they host McMurry at 3 p.m.
