September 6, 2003

Box Score

CONWAY, Ark. - The Texas Wesleyan men's soccer team's winning streak came to an end Saturday afternoon as they lost to Central Arkansas, 3-0.
The Rams (3-1) never could get anything going, as Central Arkansas outshot Texas Wesleyan, 20-7.
The Bears (2-0-1) received two goals from Danny George and Jason Bell chipped in for the other.
"The guys played hard today," head coach Steve Jones said. "We were a bit overmatched. Central Arkansas is a very talented team. My hat goes off to them."
Sophomore Travis Mauldin led the Rams with two shots on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Steven Deering kept the game close, making eight saves off of 11 shots on goal.
"Steven has some really great games this season," Jones said. "He kept us in the game today with some big saves. He is playing well beyond his years."
The Rams will be back in action September 13, when they travel to take on conference-rival Southwest Assemblies of God at 5 p.m.
