     FORT WORTH, Texas -
Oklahoma City scored three goals off of 10 shots to defeat Texas Wesleyan, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon at Martin Field.

Oklahoma City (2-2-2) took the opening lead in the 26th minute, when Michael Wright one-timed a header past Ram goalkeeper Steven Deering, off of a pass from Chris Wright. Will Cunningham also received an assist on the play.

The Stars increased their lead to two goals when Owen Lyon put one in the back of the net off of a pass from Sean Dugan in the 53rd minute.

"Our team defense was not there today," head coach Steve Jones said. "They beat us to the ball and out hustled us."

Texas Wesleyan (4-2) cut into the Star lead with a goal from freshman Christian Villasenor. The forward tapped a one-timer from sophomore Rene Mercado into the net in the 74th minute.

Oklahoma City came right back and put the game away in the 82nd minute when Matt Williams sent a bicycle kick from 15 yards out over Deering to increase the Star lead to 3-1.

"You have got to hand it to Oklahoma City," Jones said. "They got an early lead and never let us back into the game. They are a quality team."

Oklahoma City outshot the Rams, 10-6.

The Rams will be back in action Saturday, when they host conference-rival Wiley College at 2 p.m.
