     FORT WORTH, Texas -
Sophomore Jessica Carrion scored twice to lead Texas Wesleyan to a 3-1 victory over Mary-Hardin Baylor Tuesday afternoon at Martin Field.

Texas Wesleyan (6-3) opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with Carrion picking up the goal on an assist from junior Jessica Elder to put the Lady Rams up, 1-0.

The Lady Rams picked up their second goal off of an own goal by the Lady Crusaders. Junior Cristal Pena received credit for the goal in the 26th minute.

Mary-Hardin Baylor (1-6) fought back with a goal of its own in the 32nd minute. Nichelle Almendarez scored on a penalty kick to cut the lead to 2-1.

In the second half, Texas Wesleyan put the match away as Carrion scored her second goal of the afternoon in the 89th minute on a breakaway. Sophomore Jessica Killen received credit for the assist.

"The girls played a decent match today, but there are still some things we need to work on," head coach Steve Jones said. "Our defense was solid for the most part. We just are not finishing plays on offense."

Carrion leads the team with 14 goals on the season.

Texas Wesleyan will be back in action when they travel to take on St. Gregory's at 2 p.m.
