DALLAS, Texas. - Sophomore
Rachel Loftin had 15 kills and tallied eight blocks to lead Texas
Wesleyan past Paul Quinn, 30-11, 30-15, 30-10, Tuesday evening in
Red River Conference play.
"We played well tonight," head
coach Rick Johansen said. "We took care of business and never
let up. These girls have been on a tremendous roll these last two
weeks."
The victory was Texas Wesleyan's 10th in
a row and ninth consecutive conference victory. During the streak,
the Lady Rams (12-2, 10-1 RRAC) have lost only one game.
Junior Cortney Johansen led the way for
Texas Wesleyan posting 33 assists, while juniors Nicky Davis and
Tiffany Porterfield both chipped in with nine and eight kills respectively.
Sophomore libero Allyson Gaudi topped all
Lady Rams with eight digs and junior Susan Taylor added five digs.
Texas Wesleyan returns to action Friday,
when they travel to compete in the Southern Nazarene Classic in
Bethany, Okla. The two-day tournament will feature some of the top
teams from the region.
