FORT WORTH, Texas. - Forward
Alicia Flake scored two goals to lead College of the Southwest past
Texas Wesleyan, 3-0, in a Red River Conference match up Saturday
afternoon at Martin Field.
Texas Wesleyan (7-5, 0-1 RRAC) held the
Lady Mustangs scoreless for the first half as Lady Ram goalkeeper
Katrina Fishback made five saves in the opening period.
In the second half, College of the Southwest
opened the scoring in the 47th minute, when Flake scored the first
of her two goals on a corner kick.
Flake scored her second goal in the 61st
minute when she controlled a loose ball from six yards out and eased
it past Fishback to put the Lady Mustangs ahead, 2-0.
Stacy McCorkle capped off the scoring in
the 87th minute on an assist from Stephanie Perry.
Fishback tallied nine saves in the defeat.
The Lady Rams only managed two shots compared to 14 for College
of the Southwest.
Texas Wesleyan returns to action Tuesday
when they travel to take on Texas A&M-Commerce at 4 p.m.
