Final Results
GOODYEAR, Ariz.- The Texas Wesleyan golf team finished 10th
in the Grand Canyon Classic, Tuesday afternoon, at the Estrella
Mountain Ranch Golf Club.
Texas Wesleyan (292-300-289=881, 11-over
par) finished round three with its lowest round of the tournament,
firing a one-over par, 289.
"We played steady throughout the tournament,"
head coach Kevin Millikan said. "We had a few bad breaks early
but the guys hung in there and finished with their best closing
round of the year."
Freshman Scott Sikes led the way for the
Rams, posting a five-under 67, to finish tied for ninth with a total
score of 213 (three-under par).
"Scott came back with a fantastic
third round," Millikan said. "It was the best finish of
the year for him. His confidence is growing with each tournament."
Sophomore Reino Deetlefs (73-76-74=223)
and junior Euan McIntosh (74-75-74=223) both tied for 39th. Juniors
Justin Ward (77-76-74=227) and Chris Loftis (75-73-80=228) finished
the tournament tied for 53rd and 57th respectively.
The Rams will be back in action Oct. 27-28
for the Oklahoma Christian Eagle Invitational in Edmond, Okla.
