MUSKOGEE, Okla.- Forward Leslee Horn's
two goals led Bacone College past Texas Wesleyan, 4-1, Wednesday
afternoon in Red River Conference play.
Bacone (6-7-1, 2-0 RRAC) began the scoring
in the 13th minute when Allison Vopal knocked in a loose ball from
15 yards out to put the Lady Warriors up, 1-0. Joy Donaho followed
up with a goal in the 28th minute knocking a header off of a Lady
Ram defender to give Bacone a 2-0 lead at the half.
In the second half, Horn took over, scoring
in the 48th minute and 73rd minute to put the game out of reach
at 4-0.
Texas Wesleyan (8-6, 1-2 RRAC) scored a
late goal in the 79th minute when freshman Camille McDermott booted
one in off of a rebound for the final margin, 4-1.
"Offensively, we struggled to create
opportunities," head coach Steve Jones said. "They got
the early lead and they never let us back into the game."
Texas Wesleyan returns to action Wednesday
when they travel to take on Oklahoma Christian at 5 p.m.
