Box Score

     FORT WORTH, Texas. -
Sophomore Rachel Loftin's posted 16 kills and four blocks to lead Texas Wesleyan past Huston-Tillotson College, 3-0, Saturday morning in Red River Conference play at the Sid Richardson Gymnasium.

Texas Wesleyan (20-4, 15-2 RRAC) had no problems in the first two games. On the strength of a potent attack, the Lady Rams took the first two games 30-12, and 30-8.

In game three, Huston-Tillotson raced to a 7-2 lead before the Lady Rams regained their composure and closed out the match, with a 30-21 third-game victory.

"The girls came out today and performed well," head coach Rick Johansen said. "They rebounded well after last night's defeat. That is the sign of a good team when they don't have losing streaks."

Junior Tiffany Porterfield chipped in 12 kills and two blocks, while junior Cortney Johansen dished out 42 assists and three aces.

Texas Wesleyan returns to action Thursday when they host Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m.
