Box Score

     FORT WORTH, Texas-
Sophomore Jessica Carrion scored three goals to help lead Texas Wesleyan past UT-Permian Basin, 3-2, Saturday afternoon at Martin Field.

Texas Wesleyan (10-8, 2-3 RRAC) struck first in the third minute when Carrion beat the Lady Falcon goalkeeper one-on-one off of nice punt from Lady Ram goalkeeper Katrina Fishback. The assist was Fishback's second on the season from the goalkeeper position.

The Lady Rams increased their lead to 2-0, when Carrion put another ball past the keeper in the 49th minute off of an assist by junior Jessica Elder. The assist was Elder's 17th on the season, which is good enough for the team and conference lead.

UT-Permian Basin (4-10-1, 0-5 RRAC) was not to be outdone as Sophia Vidal scored in the 51st minute on an assist from Tiffany Gan to cut the Lady Ram lead in half, 2-1.

The Lady Falcons evened the score in the 65th minute when Laura Fisher scored on a penalty kick.

Texas Wesleyan bounced back as Carrion scored her third goal of the game in the 70th minute to put the Lady Falcons away for good. Junior Cristal Pena assisted on the play.
Carrion now has 29 goals on the season which is tops in the school record book. She set the previous record last season scoring 25 goals.

With the victory, Texas Wesleyan qualifies for the Red River Conference tournament in which they will be the fourth seed. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
