FORT WORTH, Texas - Rachel Loftin
had 18 kills to lead Texas Wesleyan over Paul Quinn, 30-15, 30-9,
30-7, Friday evening at the Sid Richardson Gymnasium.
Texas Wesleyan (27-4, 20-2 RRAC) dominated
the match hitting .392 as a team with only five hitting errors.
Paul Quinn held close in game one only
trailing the Lady Rams, 14-10. Texas Wesleyan kicked it into high
gear by running off eight straight points as they coasted to a 30-15
victory in game one.
In game two, Texas Wesleyan jumped to an
early 12-2 lead and never looked back on its way to a 30-9 game-two
victory.
Game three was much of the same, as the
Lady Rams dominated, 30-7, on the strength of five kills from freshman
Lacey Ford.
"The girls played almost perfect tonight,"
head coach Rick Johansen said. "Hopefully we can carry this
momentum into the conference tournament."
Junior Tiffany Porterfield chipped in eight
kills and four blocks while junior Cortney Johansen dished out 39
assists.
The Lady Rams will be back in action Friday,
Nov. 14 when they take part in the Red River Conference Tournament,
hosted by Houston Baptist. The Lady Rams receive a bye into the
semifinal round. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
