That is as close as the Wildcats would get, as Texas Wesleyan closed out the half with a 16-4 run during the last five minutes. Haynes and Schilder both had four points during the run as the Rams took a 46-26 lead at the break.

In the second half, Schilder came out firing, scoring the first 13 points for the Rams. The 6-4 guard nailed three treys and two jumpers to increase the Ram lead to 59-32, at the 17:42 mark.

Haynes tallied 25 points and a team-high 16 rebounds. The 6-4 wingman also had four dunks on the night. Junior Anthony Martin led the team with nine assists and also picked up three steals. Junior Otto Beilss provided a career-high 12 points and eight rebounds off of the bench. Senior Brian Harston also contributed 18 points off of the bench, draining six treys.

Texas Wesleyan shot 52 percent (40-77) from the floor and 73 percent (16-22) from the charity stripe. The Rams also shot 42 percent (11-26) from the three-point line. The 11 treys was the second highest total for the Rams this season.

Wiley College shot 32 percent (26-82) from the field and a dismal 40 percent (8-20) from the free-throw line. The Wildcats also shot 19 percent (5-26) from behind the arc.

Sylvester Simple led the Wildcats with 25 points on 11-of-37 shooting, while pulling down 20 rebounds. DeJean posted 15 points for Wiley College and Roderick Herndon tallied four steals.

Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Thursday, when they host conference-rival Jarvis Christian in a make-up game at 7:30 p.m. The two teams were supposed to meet Saturday but were unable because of snow in the area.
