Game 1 Box Score
WEATHERFORD, Okla. - The Texas
Wesleyan softball team dropped a heartbreaker to NCAA Division II
opponent, Southwestern Oklahoma State, 8-6 in the first game of
a scheduled doubleheader.
In game one, freshman Maria Morones pitched
five innings giving up seven runs, only one earned, off of six hits
while striking out one batter. Senior Kamie Lancaster helped lead
the Lady Rams (6-5) by going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
The Lady Bulldogs (11-5) took advantage
of Texas Wesleyan's five errors that resulted in seven unearned
runs. The Lady Rams scored five runs in the final two innings, but
came up short losing 8-6.
Sophomore Jenifer Perez finished the day,
1-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI.
The second game of the doubleheader was
cancelled due to inclement weather.
Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Saturday,
when they host Lake Erie College in a doubleheader at Sycamore Park.
First-pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
