Game 1 Box Score

     WEATHERFORD, Okla. -
The Texas Wesleyan softball team dropped a heartbreaker to NCAA Division II opponent, Southwestern Oklahoma State, 8-6 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader.

In game one, freshman Maria Morones pitched five innings giving up seven runs, only one earned, off of six hits while striking out one batter. Senior Kamie Lancaster helped lead the Lady Rams (6-5) by going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

The Lady Bulldogs (11-5) took advantage of Texas Wesleyan's five errors that resulted in seven unearned runs. The Lady Rams scored five runs in the final two innings, but came up short losing 8-6.

Sophomore Jenifer Perez finished the day, 1-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI.

The second game of the doubleheader was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Saturday, when they host Lake Erie College in a doubleheader at Sycamore Park. First-pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
