FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior Jarod Baker was named Red River Athletic Conference player of the week Tuesday by the conference office.

     The outfielder from Boerne, Texas, went 5-for-8 at the plate (.625) as Texas Wesleyan posted a pair of wins over Johnson & Wales University (Colo.). He went 2-for-3 in the opener, an 11-4 victory in which he had a homer and two RBI. In the second game, a 15-1 win, he was 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI. Baker is currently hitting .389 for the season with one homer and five RBI.

     Texas Wesleyan will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to take on Howard Payne in Brownwood. The doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
