     CEDAR HILL, Texas -
The Texas Wesleyan softball team split a doubleheader rival Northwood University in conference play, Friday afternoon in Cedar Hill, Texas. The Lady Rams lost a close first game, 2-1, and won the second game, 5-2.

In game one, Lady Ram starting pitcher Tara Sharp (6-5) despite having a strong outing on the mound, the Fort Worth, Texas native, suffered the loss. Sharp pitched six innings allowing two runs on six hits while striking out five batters.

With Texas Wesleyan (15-14, 5-3 RRAC) down 2-0 after the first inning, sophomore Jennifer Perez's RBI triple in the sixth inning helped to close the gap to 2-1. But it was not enough as the Lady Rams could only manage four hits for the game.

In game two, Texas Wesleyan's offense came alive as the team managed five runs off 13 hits. Starting pitcher, Rachel Lamont (4-3), allowed only two runs on five hits while fanning two batters in seven innings of work. The Lady Rams were led by second baseman Danah Merck and Tara Sharp.
