REASONER NAMED RRAC P.O.W.
January 31, 2006

WACO, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Scott Reasoner has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the period of January 23-29.  Reasoner shared the honor with Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s Julio Osorio.

 Reasoner, a senior forward from Fort Worth, TX, averaged 17 points per game in three conference victories last week as the Rams extended their winning streak to. In a 71-68 win over Texas College, Reasoner scored 19 points and pulled in seven rebounds. He also accounted for 18 points and seven boards in a win over Jarvis Christian College (Texas). He connected on 17-of-31 field goal attempts (55.0%) including 7-of-16 on three-pointers (44.0%) last week.

After a win at Wiley College Monday night, Texas Wesleyan is second in the conference at 9-2 with an 12-6 record on the season.  Monday night’s win marked the Rams’ eighth consecutive victory, giving them the school’s longest winning streak since the 1987-88 season. 

Osorio, a junior post from Panama City, Panama, averaged 18.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game, as SAGU went 1-1 in its games last week. Osorio powered his way to a double-double on Saturday with 24 points and 14 rebounds in a 70-64 win over Bacone. Earlier in the week, he tossed in 13 points and grabbed eight boards in a 68-64 loss at Texas Wesleyan. He made 16-of-33 shots from the field (48.0%) as the Lions moved into fourth place in the RRAC at 6-4 with an overall record of 11-9.
