MUSKOGEE, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team (11-11, 9-4 RRAC) dropped a 54-45 decision at Bacone College (16-6, 10-3) on Monday.

In the first half, the Lady Rams jumped ahead 9-0 and held Bacone to just 16% shooting from the field.  That led to a 17-12 Texas Wesleyan advantage at the break.

The Warriors chipped away to cut the gap to just four at 33-29.  Bacone then rattled off 11 unanswered points to take control of the contest at 41-33 with seven minutes remaining.

With 1:03 on the clock, the Lady Rams had possession, trailing 48-45, but they failed to score on their final four possessions and fell by a final score of 54-45.

For the game, the Warriors out rebounded the Rams 43-29 and forced 22 Lady Ram turnovers while committing 19 of their own.

Stephanie Reder led the Rams with 14 points while Pilar Pinkus finished with 12.  Shawndrika Courtney brought down 13 rebounds to go with 8 points.  Bacone’s Brittany Walton recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Jessica Jenkins led all scorers with 16 points.

The Lady Rams will return to action on Saturday, February 11, when they host Houston Baptist University in the Sid Richardson Center.  That game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by a men’s game.
