WACO, TX: For the fifth time this season and the second consecutive week, Texas Wesleyan’s Ben Hunt has been selected as the RRAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Hunt, a senior guard from Bendigo, Australia, scored 18 of his game-high 22 points in the second half against #11 Houston Baptist as the Rams defeated the conference leader, 83-80, on Saturday. He hauled in nine rebounds and dished out six assists as Texas Wesleyan overcame a 38-33 halftime deficit. Earlier in the week, the Rams had their 10-game winning streak snapped in a 77-75 overtime loss to Bacone College (Okla.). Hunt racked up 14 points in that contest and finished the week with 43.0% shooting from the field and 46.0% shooting from three-point range.
After a 102-80 win over Huston-Tillotson on Monday, in which Hunt scored 27 points, the Rams are now second in the RRAC at 12-3 with a 16-7 mark overall.
